A lot of people, when they start wanting to reach their goals, are so motivated to start that they just jump right into working on themselves. Well, that is great to want to start working on yourself and getting excited to begin. It is important to make sure you are prepared, and that is creating a foundation.

Why is creating a foundation so important?
Well, you create and find long-lasting motivation that will ensure less failure during the process of working on yourself, and you will create a working space that will help you thrive when working on yourself.
The Lessons:
You are going to learn two very important lessons that will make sure you stay consistent throughout reaching your goals. This is actually the first step to creating a very personalized and sustainable lifestyle that works best for you.
The first thing you are going to learn is how to find the right motivation for you.
The second lesson you are going to be learning is how to create a working space that fits you as well as a space where you can wind down.
Motivation:
Not everyone is going to be motivated by the same things; we all strive to be our own person with our own set of goals. This means we are inspired by a whole wide range of different people. For you, that might be someone with their own podcast, a musician, a politician, a family member—whoever it is, we are all inspired by someone.
Like I said before, usually people just jump right into working on themselves without resetting or creating a foundation, and they are motivated to do this by wanting instant results and change, but what not a lot of people understand is that change takes time, and jumping right into creating a new lifestyle most likely will result in failure or some sort of repercussions.
Idols:
So why do I mention the idea of our idols? Well, we can first educate ourselves based on their achievements and learn the importance of consistency. When someone with achievement and experience teaches you how they reached their goals, not only do you learn more about how to do it for yourself, but you feel a personal connection. This connection allows you to feel motivated to start, as your idol is someone who understands you. When you feel as if someone understands you as a person, you feel heard and want to listen to what they have to say. Now your base and your reasoning to start are more valid and strong. When someone has confidence in themselves and is their own person, it shows more independence.
Being independent leads us into the next topic, which is creating a healthy work environment that allows you to thrive and reach your goals.
Resetting and creating a space:
I like to see this next step as resetting yourself and setting yourself up for everlasting change. Now that you have the motivation to start, you need to make sure that you are ready to start. This could be by testing your limits or your motivation in a space that is meant for you.
What is one place you come home to every day of the week—a place where you can wind down and reset? While that is your room. How can you reset to make sure you are ready to start, while there are many different ways you can approach this?
Make your bed
Clean your desk
Organize your bathroom
Do you laundry?
Clean out the space.
Now that your space is clean, how can you make it personal?
Buy posters
Get a speaker (play your playlist).
Get ambiance lighting (pick your favorite color).
A diffuser (pick your favorite scent)
Get a bunch of throw blankets.
Your room is a place that reflects you, so if you make it personal, clean, and comfortable, you will exude that energy.
Now test it before you start:
If you can go a week waking up early, doing your work on time, doing your laundry, keeping your room clean, and going to bed early, you have proven to yourself you are ready to start and that you can stay consistent.
Overall, in this episode, I want you to understand the importance of setting yourself up because without giving time to yourself and working on the little things, you might risk a part of the hard work and time you are giving in to reaching your goals.
Don’t think that this is just to get you ready for your goals because it is also teaching you how to make a schedule, how to work on healthy lifestyle choices, and how to believe in yourself as a person.
